Women Of The Bible Quilt
I started making these blocks while participating in an online bible study group that was doing a year long study of the women of the bible. As you can see, I never got very far, but I'll get back to it one of these days. A different woman from the bible is studied each week using the book, 'Women of the Bible', by Ann Spangler and Jean Syswerda. A set of patterns, produced by Carol Honderich, is available for purchase. There are 52 blocks in the current program, though the quilters may chose to subtract some of the blocks, or the more ambitions quilters can add additional blocks for bible women not included in the study. The choice of fabric is up to the individual quilter - I'm making my blocks using African fabrics. When the blocks are assembled, the result will be a spectacular and uniquely individual quilt. There have been four complete year-long sessions of this online study since its inception in 2004, with, most likely, more to come. EVE
Block Name - "Garden of Eden"
I thought the yellow and gold fabric was perfect because it has snakes in it!
The story of Eve (and Adam) is found in Genesis 1:26-31, and Genesis 2-4.
